Jake Odorizzi pitched six solid innings and the Minnesota Twins hit three homers to halt an eight-game regular-season road losing streak to the New York Yankees with a 7-3 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Odorizzi (4-2) followed up seven scoreless innings against the Houston Astros by striking out eight and working around four walks to win his fourth straight start. He allowed a leadoff single to DJ LeMahieu in the third, a single by Miguel Andujar in the sixth and worked out of a jam in the fourth.

Mitch Garver hit a two-run homer while C.J. Cron and Nelson Cruz added solo homers as the Twins won in New York for the first time since June 26, 2016. Including the playoffs, the Twins are 15-51 in the Bronx since 2002.

Jonathan Schoop added an RBI single in the eighth after being robbed of a three-run homer by Cameron Maybin in the fourth.

Minnesota's other runs came on Jorge Polanco's double-play grounder in the fifth and an RBI groundout by Eddie Rosario in the seventh.

The Twins increased their home run total to 56 in 31 games.

Trevor Hildenberger followed Odorizzi and allowed two runs in the seventh on a wild pitch and on a single by LeMahieu. Blake Parker finished the inning and retired Luke Voit but opened the eighth by allowing a homer to Gary Sanchez, his 11th of the season.

Taylor Rogers finished up with a perfect ninth.

New York left-hander J.A. Happ (1-3) allowed four runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.

The Yankees lost for only the fifth time in their last 17 games after third baseman Miguel Andujar was activated from the injured list after missing more than a month with a right shoulder injury. He went 1-for-3 and committed two errors at third base.

The Yankees also placed left-hander James Paxton on the injured list with left knee inflammation.

The Twins took a 2-0 lead with one out in the second. After Happ opened the inning by hitting Schoop with a pitch, Garver lifted a 1-1 fastball into the left-center field seats for his sixth homer.

Minnesota nearly took a 5-0 lead in the fourth when Schoop hit a drive to deep right field but Maybin made a leaping catch at the wall to end the inning.
