Gregory Polanco homered and rookie Nick Kingham struck out nine Friday as the Pittsburgh Pirates pasted the visiting Milwaukee Brewers 7-3.

Josh Bell had four hits and two RBIs, and Colin Moran had three hits and an RBI for Pittsburgh, which has won three in a row and five of six.

Brewers reliever Brandon Woodruff, recalled earlier in the day, allowed one hit in three scoreless innings and hit his first career homer. Travis Shaw also homered for Milwaukee, which has lost three straight and five of seven.

Kingham (4-4) tied a career high in strikeouts from earlier this season. He allowed three runs and five hits in 6 1/3 innings, with one walk. Kyle Crick got the final four outs for his second save.

Brewers starter Junior Guerra (6-6), who had won three starts in a row, gave up six runs and nine hits in four innings, with four strikeouts and two walks.

Corey Dickerson led off the Pirates' first with a double. Starling Marte followed with a single, sending Dickerson to third. After Marte stole second, Dickerson scored on Polanco's sacrifice fly to make it 1-0. Francisco Cervelli walked. Moran singled to right-center, bringing Marte home, and Bell doubled to drive in Cervelli for a 3-0 lead.

Moran was out at home on a relay throw by center fielder Lorenzo Cain to shortstop Tyler Saladino.

In the third, Saladino singled, went to second on a walk to Jacob Nottingham and scored on pinch hitter Hernan Perez's base hit to left to make it 3-1.

Hernan hit for right fielder Eric Thames, who left with right hamstring tightness.

With two outs in the bottom of the third, Moran singled. Bell followed with a single that handcuffed Cain for an error, allowing Moran to score. After Josh Harrison walked, Jordy Mercer singled home Bell to push the lead to 5-1.

In the fourth, Polanco lofted his 14th homer to right-center to increase it to 6-1.

Woodruff's homer to right in the sixth closed it to 6-2, and Shaw's 17th, a shot to center in the seventh, made it 6-3.

Bell added an RBI triple in the eighth.
