Matt Adams drove in three runs and Yadier Molina went 3-for-5 for St. Louis, which has won nine of its last 10 home games. Allen Craig added two hits, running his hitting streak to nine games.
Adams started the scoring with a two-run single in the second, and the Cardinals kept piling on over the next three innings. Molina singled home a run in the third, and Matt Carpenter added an RBI single in the fourth.
St. Louis broke it open with a five-spot in the fifth, as David Freese and Adams smacked back-to-back run-scoring doubles and Robinson cleared the bases with a three-run triple when center fielder John Mayberry made an ill-advised attempt at a diving catch.
