Rays 8, Rockies 3: Kelly Johnson and Ryan Roberts had two hits and two RBIs apiece as visiting Tampa Bay took two of three games from Colorado.

James Loney had three hits with three runs and an RBI and Alex Cobb (4-2) allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings as the Rays completed their road trip with a 4-5 record.

Michael Cuddyer, Troy Tulowitzki and Nolan Arenado belted solo home runs for the Rockies, who saw Jhoulys Chacin (3-1) struggle in his first start since April 19. Chacin, who came off the disabled list Sunday, gave up six runs - five earned - in seven innings.

Tampa Bay jumped on top 3-0 in its first at-bat when Loney and Johnson sandwiched RBI singles around a wild pitch by Chacin. Homers by Cuddyer and Tulowitzki cut the deficit to 3-2 before the Rays pulled away with three runs in the sixth.

Johnson's second RBI single and Roberts' two-run double made it 6-2 before Arenado went deep off Cobb in the seventh, but Jose Lobaton put it out of reach with a two-run single in the eighth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Along with Chacin, the Rockies activated 1B Todd Helton off the 15-day disabled list. He had one hit in four at-bats. ... Rays 2B Ben Zobrist left the team following the death of his grandmother in Illinois. Tampa Bay was also without SS Yunel Escobar, who is expected to miss at least three days with a bruised left hand suffered in Saturday’s game. ... Arenado, who had a grand slam in Saturday's win, has three homers in seven career games.
