Indians 5, Astros 4: Mark Reynolds hit a tiebreaking homer in the seventh inning as visiting Cleveland powered past Houston.

Yan Gomes, Carlos Santana and Drew Stubbs also hit homers for the Indians, who had 11 hits while following up Saturday’s 19-run, 22-hit effort against the Astros.

Cody Allen (1-0) got the final out of the sixth as one of five Cleveland relievers who combined for four shutout innings. Houston loaded the bases in the ninth before Chris Perez struck out Chris Carter and got Jason Castro on a hard-hit grounder for his second save.

Houston trailed 4-2 heading to the bottom of the sixth before Jose Altuve delivered a run-scoring triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Carter. Reynolds cranked his go-ahead blast off Hector Ambriz (0-1) with two outs in the seventh.

Fernando Martinez hit a two-run homer in the first for Houston. Gomes went deep in the second, Ryan Raburn had a run-scoring single in the third, Santana homered in the fifth and Stubbs followed suit in the sixth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Indians starter Ubaldo Jimenez allowed four runs and four hits in five-plus innings and Houston’s Erik Bedard gave up two runs and six hits while striking out eight in four innings. … The Astros recalled LHP Brett Oberholtzer from Triple-A Oklahoma City and sent LHP Dallas Keuchel to the same club. Oberholtzer gave up two runs in two innings. … Cleveland placed RHP Brett Myers (tendinitis) on the disabled list Sunday and recalled right-handed reliever Fernando Nieve from Triple-A Columbus.
