Diamondbacks 9, Rays 8: Martin Prado capped a four-hit, four-RBI performance with a go-ahead two-run single in the eighth inning as host Arizona completed a two-game sweep of Tampa Bay.

Prado, who also belted a two-run homer in the third inning, delivered a bases-loaded single against Rays closer Fernando Rodney as the Diamondbacks turned a franchise-record six double plays to beat Tampa Bay for the seventh time in their last nine meetings and remain five games behind first-place Los Angeles in the National League West.

Aaron Hill had a pair of RBI doubles while Eric Chavez and Paul Goldschmidt contributed run-scoring singles for Arizona, which erased an early 3-1 deficit with a pair of three-run innings to take a 7-4 lead. J.J. Putz (3-1) pitched a scoreless eighth and Brad Ziegler worked around a one-out single in the ninth for his seventh save.

Kelly Johnson homered while Evan Longoria and Yunel Escobar each hit a two-run double for the Rays, who fell to 4-5 in their last nine games and dropped 2 1/2 games behind front-running Boston in the American League East. Standout rookie Chris Archer left the game with two outs in the second due to tightness in his right forearm.

After Arizona went in front 7-4, the Rays battled back to move ahead with four runs in the seventh inning. Longoria cut the deficit to 7-6 with a two-out, two-run double before pinch-hitter Sam Fuld's two-run single put Tampa Bay on top, but Joel Peralta (1-5) and Rodney could not hold the lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Diamondbacks starter Randall Delgado allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings, while Archer was charged with one run in 1 2/3 frames in his second start since a brilliant month of July during which he went 4-0 and gave up three earned runs in five starts. ... Rays rookie CF Wil Myers went 2-for-3 and has hit safely in 16-of-17 games but had to come out of the contest due to asthma-related symptoms, and Fuld delivered the go-ahead single. ... Prado has multiple hits in five of his last seven games, boosting his batting average from .261 to .274.
