Diamondbacks 3, Dodgers 2: Paul Goldschmidt hit two home runs to give him four in the three-game series and help visiting Arizona finish off the sweep.

Goldschmidt hit his second home run off Dodgers reliever Kenley Jansen (1-1) to break a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning and give him the first multi-homer game of his three-year career. Goldschmidt had his first four-hit game in Monday’s 9-2 victory and hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning Tuesday in a 5-3 win.

The home runs made a winner of Arizona starter Wade Miley (3-1), who allowed two runs and seven hits in 7 2/3 innings, and Heath Bell pitched around a leadoff double in the ninth to record his third save and hand the Dodgers their seventh straight loss. Miley outlasted Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw, who gave up two runs (one earned) and five hits in seven innings to lower his ERA to 1.62.

Kershaw escaped a first-and-third situation in the first with an inning-ending double play, allowed a two-out double in the second and a leadoff single in the fourth, but Arizona couldn’t capitalize. The Diamondbacks put their leadoff runner on base in the fifth on an error by Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon and Goldschmidt lifted a towering home run to left to tie the score at 2.

Miley retired the first nine batters before Gordon led off the fourth with a single and Nick Punto followed with a run-scoring double to deep right. With one out, Adrian Gonzalez also doubled to right, driving in Punto for a 2-0 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gonzalez did not take the field in the fifth inning after re-aggravating a neck strain and OF Carl Crawford did not start because of tightness in his hamstring, but pinch hit with two outs in the ninth and flew out to left to end the game. … The Dodgers committed three errors in the game, while the Diamondbacks have seven all season. …. Goldschmidt was 1-for-14 with seven strikeouts off Kershaw prior to hitting his first home run of the game.
