Rockies 9, Brewers 6: DJ LeMahieu had a career-high four hits and drove in two runs as host Colorado jumped on rookie Mike Fiers and Milwaukee for eight runs in the first three innings.

Fiers (6-5), who won his previous three outings, allowed nine hits in two-plus innings in his first start at Coors Field and saw his ERA rise from 1.80 to 2.63. He faced five batters in the third in the shortest start of his career. Fiers allowed two or fewer runs in each of his previous nine starts.

Jeff Francis (4-4) departed after yielding a two-run homer to Carlos Gomez with one out in the sixth inning. He allowed three runs and six hits to lower his ERA to 6.96 at home. Francis, who threw 76 pitches as the Rockies continue their about 75-pitch limit and four-man rotation, was 0-3 with a 10.80 ERA in his previous three outings.

Carlos Gonzalez had two RBIs and Eric Young Jr., Dexter Fowler, Tyler Colvin and Chris Nelson had two hits apiece for Colorado, which had lost three straight and 10 of its last 11 games at Coors Field.

Gomez finished with three hits for Milwaukee, which has lost 12 of its last 13 road games and 16 of its last 21 in Denver.

Colorado scored three runs in the first inning, the first on Jonathan Herrera's RBI single. The Rockies batted around in the third and added four runs on Colvin's run-scoring double and RBI singles by Gonzalez, Nelson and LeMahieu.

LeMahieu also had an RBI single in the seventh.

Colorado right-hander Will Harris made his major-league debut and allowed a three-run homer to Rickie Weeks in the ninth inning before striking out reigning National League MVP Ryan Braun looking to end the game.
