Cardinals 6, Brewers 1: Adam Wainwright tossed a five-hitter while going 2-for-3 with an RBI double as host St. Louis recorded its fourth win in five games.

Wainwright (9-10) continued his solid run, allowing one run on four singles and a double while striking out seven without a walk. The former All-Star, who registered his 10th career complete game and second this season, has surrendered three earned runs or less in nine of his last 11 starts.

With the game even at 1-1, Wainwright helped himself at the plate, following Daniel Descalso's leadoff double in the third with a two-base hit of his own. Two batters later, Allen Craig singled to score Wainwright and give the Cardinals a 3-1 lead.

Yadier Molina capped the four-run inning with a two-run single and Jon Jay completed the scoring with a one-out solo blast in the sixth.

After Ryan Braun lifted a sacrifice fly in the first to put Milwaukee ahead, Carlos Beltran led off the second with his 25th home run, knotting the score. Beltran initially was credited with a triple, but after the umpires reviewed the play on video, it was ruled the ball hit the LED board on the right-field wall, which constitutes a homer.

Milwaukee's Mark Rogers (0-1) yielded five runs and seven hits over five innings in his second start of the season.

Cody Ransom notched two of the five hits by the Brewers, who have lost eight straight on the road.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Molina stole his third base in two nights. He collected eight steals over his first 91 games of the season. ... Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez was kept out of the starting lineup for the second straight game with a sore left wrist. ... St. Louis LHP Jaime Garcia (shoulder) made a strong rehab start for Double-A Springfield on Saturday, retiring the first nine Tulsa batters he faced. He was pulled after throwing 64 pitches, allowing one run and two hits and striking out six in 4 1/3 innings. ... Braun remains one stolen base away from his third career 20-20 season and the ninth in franchise history. Braun also is one homer shy of his fifth year with 30 or more.
