Brewers 6, Dodgers 3: Yovani Gallardo pitched six solid innings and visiting Milwaukee won its third straight over Los Angeles, which lost Matt Kemp after he appeared to re-injure his left hamstring.

Kemp came up lame while scoring from first on Andre Ethier's double in the first inning. After reaching the dugout, Kemp snapped a bat over his knee in frustration before heading into the clubhouse. Kemp returned to the lineup Tuesday after missing 14 games.

Ethier was 3-for-4 as the Dodgers became the last team to lose three straight games this season.

Los Angeles' Clayton Kershaw (4-3) lost his second straight start for the first time since Sept. 1-7, 2010 and hadn't dropped two decisions in a row since last April. He allowed five runs, eight hits and four walks in 5 2/3 innings to fall to 0-3 lifetime against Milwaukee at home.

Gallardo (4-4) yielded three runs and struck out eight in six-plus innings to win for the first time in six career starts against the Dodgers.

Carlos Gomez, who went 4-for-5, put Milwaukee ahead 2-1 with a two-run single in the fourth. The Brewers scored three runs in the fifth - highlighted by Gallardo's RBI single off the left field wall.

Elian Herrera hit a two-run single with the bases loaded and none out in the seventh inning off reliever Manny Parra to bring the Dodgers to within 5-3. Parra then struck out James Loney and got Tony Gwynn Jr. to hit into a double play.

Francisco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless eighth and John Axford did the same in the ninth for his 10th save in 11 chances to preserve Milwaukee's 63rd straight victory when leading after seven innings.
