Dodgers 4, Phillies 3: Elian Herrera plated Dee Gordon with an RBI single in the ninth inning as visiting Los Angeles posted only its second win in eight games.

With the contest tied at 3-3, Gordon led off the ninth by drilling a 2-2 split-finger fastball from Jonathan Papelbon (0-2) into the right-center field gap. The speedy Gordon raced around the bases and beat the relay throw to third. Herrera promptly brought him home after depositing a fastball into left field past the drawn-in infield.

Pitching on the third consecutive night, Ronald Belisario (1-0) relieved starter Clayton Kershaw and retired in the side in order in the eighth inning to pick up the win. Kenley Jansen worked a clean ninth inning for his seventh save.

Juan Rivera, who was activated from the disabled list prior to the game, had an RBI single to open the scoring in the first inning. Former Phillie Bobby Abreu had a run-scoring single later in the frame and Gordon gave the Dodgers a 3-0 advantage with an RBI single in the second inning.

Placido Polanco belted a two-run homer and rookie Freddy Galvis had an RBI single in the third inning for the Phillies, who suffered their third straight loss to fall back to .500 (28-28).

Philadelphia starter Vance Worley gave up three runs and five hits in four innings. He left after 81 pitches in his first outing since being activated from the disabled list because of an elbow injury.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kershaw allowed three runs on eight hits in seven innings to settle for a no-decision. The reigning National League Cy Young Award winner entered the contest with a 0-4 record and 5.18 ERA in six career outings against the Phillies. ... Philadelphia second baseman Chase Utley went 3-for-4 with a home run in an extended spring training game on Monday. The five-time All-Star has yet to play this season because of his chronically injured knees. ... Dodgers outfielder Tony Gwynn was a late scratch because of hamstring and dehydration issues. ... Los Angeles selected Northwest Cabarrus (N.C.) High School shortstop Corey Seager with the 18th overall pick of the 2012 draft Monday.
