Ryan Howard and Raul Ibanez provided quite the punch on Monday afternoon. The pair belted back-to-back homers in the fourth inning and then plated the eventual tying and winning runs in the seventh to rally the Philadelphia Phillies to a 5-4 road triumph over the Washington Nationals.

Domonic Brown had an RBI single and Roy Halladay (7-3) overcame three solo homers to improve to 11-1 in his career and 3-0 this season against the Nationals. The reigning National League Cy Young Award winner struggled by allowing four runs on 10 hits in seven innings, but the Phillies escaped with their eighth win in 11 games.

With Washington clinging to a 4-3 lead, Howard plated Placido Polanco with a shallow single to right field off Sean Burnett (0-2) to tie the game. Ibanez followed with a sacrifice fly to right as Chase Utley scored to give Philadelphia a 5-4 advantage.

Antonio Bastardo and Jose Contreras bridged the gap to Ryan Madson, who retired the side in the ninth to secure his 12th save of the season.

Michael Morse, Danny Espinosa and Laynce Nix belted solo homers and Livan Hernandez plated Jerry Hairston Jr. with a sacrifice bunt for Washington, which fell for the 10th time in 12 games.
