Rookie Jason Pridie hit a go-ahead, three-run homer in the sixth inning Friday as the New York Mets posted a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on a night when Andre Ethier extended his hitting streak to 30 games.

Ike Davis homered, Jason Bay had an RBI single and Jose Reyes tripled twice for the Mets, who spoiled former Yankees great Don Mattingly’s managerial return to New York.

Rod Barajas homered for the Dodgers, who have lost three straight.

Mattingly penciled in Ethier into the lineup two days after his star right fielder sat out with inflammation in his left elbow. Ethier promptly extended the majors’ longest hitting streak in two years in his first at bat with a line drive to right field on a 3-1 fastball from Jon Niese. Ethier added two more hits, but Pridie had the biggest knock with New York trailing 3-2 in the sixth.

Carlos Beltran hit a one-out double, and one batter later Mattingly opted to intentionally walk Davis. The strategy backfired when Pridie ripped a two-out, three-run homer to right off Hiroki Kuroda (3-3).

Ryota Igarashi (2-0) got the final out of the sixth in relief of Niese. Two relievers bridged the gap to Francisco Rodriguez, who recorded his eighth save in nine chances. Rodriguez's appearance was a bit surprising after he threw 42 pitches in a four-out save Thursday.
