Ian Desmond's two-run double and Jayson Werth's two-run homer in the 11th inning lifted the visiting Washington Nationals to a 7-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday.

Washington trailed 3-1 entering the ninth before Alex Cora tied it with a bases-loaded single off closer Craig Kimbrel. It was Kimbrel's third blown save of the season.

Scott Linebrink (0-1) allowed all the runs in the 11th as Washington improved to 5-1 in extra-inning games.

Drew Storen (3-1) pitched a scoreless 10th for the victory.

The Braves scored twice in the first when Brian McCann doubled to deep right field to score Martin Prado and Chipper Jones.

Atlanta added an insurance run in the seventh on Eric Hinske's homer to right off reliever Doug Slaten. Hinske, playing right field in place of the injured Jason Heyward, also made a nice running catch.

John Lannan allowed two runs and five hits in six innings, and Laynce Nix had an RBI single in the second for Washington.

Tommy Hanson scattered five hits in 5 2/3 innings for Atlanta.
