Alexei Ramirez doubled home Brent Morel with the tiebreaking run in the 10th inning and Paul Konerko went 5-for-5 as the Chicago White Sox recorded a 5-2 victory over the host Seattle Mariners on Sunday.

Morel led off the 10th inning with a single and was sacrificed to second by Juan Pierre. He then scored easily on Ramirez’s drive into the left-center field gap off Seattle reliever Brandon League (0-1).

Adam Dunn added a run-scoring double and Alex Rios singled in a run during the 10th as the White Sox defeated the Mariners for the second consecutive day.

Chicago scored twice in the fourth inning when Ramon Castro singled in Konerko with another run scoring due to a Seattle misplay. Milton Bradley’s off-target throw home bounced out of the glove of Miguel Olivo and rolled toward the Chicago dugout. Rios had advanced to third on Castro’s hit and scored on Olivo’s miscue.

Seattle tied the contest in the fifth on Brendan Ryan’s run-scoring single and Ichiro Suzuki’s sacrifice fly against White Sox starter Mark Buehrle, who allowed two runs and nine hits in eight innings.

Sergio Santos (1-0) struck out three in two hitless innings for Chicago.

Mariners starter Erik Bedard struck out nine in five innings and gave up two runs – one earned – and five hits.

Ryan, Olivo and Bradley had two hits apiece for Seattle.
