All-Star Albert Pujols belted a two-run homer, rookie Allen Craig notched his first major league home run and Skip Schumaker also went deep as the St. Louis Cardinals posted an 8-4 triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday.

All three homers came in the five-run fifth inning as NL Central-leading St. Louis (52-41) extended its winning streak to six games.

Randy Winn also homered, Jon Jay had an RBI double and Felipe Lopez scored twice for the Cardinals.

Blake Hawksworth (4-5) overcame an early deficit before settling down. The 27-year-old British Columbia native allowed four runs and 10 hits in six innings to pick up the win.

Trever Miller and Jason Motte bridged the gap to Kyle McClellan, who retired the side in the ninth to secure the victory.

Shane Victorino slapped a two-run single and All-Star Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins had RBI base hits for Philadelphia, which fell for the eighth time in its last 10 road games.

Staked to an early three-run lead, Kyle Kendrick (5-4) could not find his rhythm in this one. The 25-year-old Texas native permitted seven runs and seven hits in five innings.
